So I'm trying to figure out when I connect my HVX200 to any mac it shows up as two things, one it shows up as the HVX200 under the firewire tab on about this mac but then there is also another item that pops up called "unknown device" is this normal? If you look, I have another post talking about extremely slow transfer speeds and I'm wondering if this is part of it. I do have the latest Panasonic P2 drivers installed but I'm wondering if someone the systems not connecting the dots for some reason. If anyone out there has a HVX200 connecting through firewire on a mac, could look and see if you have the same "unknown device"? One point of correction, I believe almost all macs have a "unknown device" because of some repeater for the firewire bus but look for when you plug in the camera because then another should show up if yours is the same as mine.
