We have a 3 day TVC shoot with this camera starting tomorrow.
These images were just taken outside with natural light, I did give them just a little CC though.
Also these images are from the DVC pro HD codec not from AVC intra.
Love this camera.
Gary.

What lens did you use?

The lens used was a HD Fujinon HA10x5berm-m28
I love the wide look but it is harder to get good DOF.

These were just color corrected using the white balance tool in Edius Broadcast. The cameras white balance was just on preset when I shot these.
I'll post some more clips from the TVC we are shooting later in the week.
We shot today but the weather was crap had to keep waiting for the rain to stop.

Gary turn OFF the detail and shoot with Filmrec mode of Varicam with GAMMA 0,35 and give me a link to download it as Tiff file, to send you back the color graded version in Cine Gamma Log processing in order to understand the potential. Oh when shooting keep Gray card on 32% IRE for accurate exposure. If all these are Chinese to you just ignore me.

I know a little chinese! These images were captured right after I pulled it out of the case, so what ever the settings where (probably default) this is what I got. I have tweaked a few menu settings since for our shoot, but I'll try what you have asked and let you know.

Evan - why 32% for a grey card - shouldnt it be 18%

We talking about the 18% Gray card that typically on video cameras shown on the waveform to 45-50 IRE, on HPX3000 in Film REC mode the correct exposure is 32 IRE. There is a function called Y-Get that can be used to measure the grey card and set the exposure without a waveform on 3000 (as is also on Varicam).

Is it just me or do those images have a significant amount of color noise?
Also, the sharpness isn't striking. To be honest, to me it looks very similar to the HVX. I know these are only a couple of images.
Please prove me wrong, though. I just know I'm missing something. And the pros here have much better eyes for abberation and MTF than I do.
I, by no means, am trying to disparage the camera in any way shape or form; just my observation. That's all.

Gary,
Stunning pics! The more I see of this camera the more it is calling my name... BEAUTIFUL!!!
I also use edius for quick / mild color correction and really like it, especialy for P2 work flow...
