View Full Version : Music video footage (EX-1 with Letus Extreme)

Shot this in NYC last month.

** This is a just a minute or so of the footage as the song is over 4 minutes long**

Shot it with the EX-1 in 1080 HQ 24p.
Shutter was at 1/48th

Sucked it into FCP. Worked on color correction slightly.

The Letus Extreme was used for most of the shots except for any crane shots. Used a Canon 50mm lens and also a 24-70mm.

The video was for the band "The Speaks", and the video has already met with some success having been aired on national televsion as part of FOX's NCAA basketball coverage.

was your timeline 1080 or 720 ? I saw some 60fps in there ... did you scale up the 720, or bump down the 1080 ? looks good !

yes forgot about that. we shot the 60fps at 720. we scaled the 720 up for the HD version we gave the networks and the band, but of course in this case we are talking about a small web video so its all downscaled.

Hey mate licked your overall look, but it had a real video look to it - I know its video but was like a discovery clip. Also I think you need to lift the pace a bit on your cuts.

I liked how the crane shots (non letus) intercut very well with the letus footage. How did that work in the 1080p version? Did you soften the stock lens footage?

Did you work your knee settings for the blown-outs? They look a little bit harsh on some skintones, but look great out of focus.

I got the same camera but dont know how to get the best out of it
when I leave tthe IRIS to AUTO the picture look overxpost and to white
do you do the iris manualy ? and how to get all the scenes to look alike then?
Did you adjust the Cameras profile gama knee or colours ? Or did you use the
STANDARD SETTING ?

Excellent man!

You have a real talent.
The music and performance was really good man.
The EX1/Letus really looked like it did one heck of a job. I liked
the crane shots!
