View Full Version : Can't get DVC-PRO HD in recording setup!

What up everyone? Can anyone help. I just got an HVX 200 and when I go to the recording setup menu, in the 480i Rec Mode selection, only DV, DVC PRO, and DVC PRO 50 comes up?
Where the H*^& is DVC PRO HD at? Can some someone help?
Is my camera set wrong? I have in an 8GB P2, and when I move up the Rec Format P2 past 720/60p, the 480i Rec Mode selection stays blue at DVC PRO 50. I have searched the menus up and down, left and right no luck!
? Where is DVC PRO HD?
Please help...

When you set the camera to any of these:
1080i 60i
1080i30p
1080i24p
1080i24pa
720p60p
720p30p
720p24p
720p30pn
720p24pn
you are by default shooting DVCproHD.

DVCPROHD is unavailable when shooting 480. End of story.

How would you expect to shoot DVCProHD if you are in the 480i rec mode?

No guys! I understand shooting 480i isn't DVC PRO HD, however I was referring to the menu option under recording setup. The media is already set to P2 not tape!
I am just saying that I see DV, DVC PRO and DVC PRO 50 and not DVC PRO HD under that option and asking how can I get the DVC PRO HD option to come up and work?

Your recording setup is still set for 480i, a resolution that's not supported by DVCProHD. If you change the vertical resolution to either 720 or 1080, then the camera will use DVCProHD.

with a 480i rec mode on you wont' see dvcpro hd as an option. shoot in hd and you will. there is no hd 480i.
