Hi,
I was trying to do the 3D Stroke Effect tutorial that Andrew Kramer created. I get as far as setting all the physics to zero and then I don't even have a spec on my screen. I see nothing, even when I continue on with the tutorial, nothing is there. I tried moving the playhead and played with the Producer positions. Only when I add gravity I see the particle. When I do that it's way to big and my streak doesn't look like a streak. Any ideas.
I am using CS3.
Thanks

yeah, start over with the tutorial from scratch.

sometimes you miss something that is not obvious to you, and by starting over you probably won't make the same error.

Thanks Derrick. I tried doing it over and over again in a spand of 3 days and it's still not working. Is there some kind of particle world setting I am missing? If I change the value of gravity or velocity or what not I have a bunch of particles. If I set everything to zero like the tutorial says I have no particles when I should see just one lonely particle. I am so frustrated. Maybe someone has a different idea on how to create a 3D light streak. I am up for suggestions.
Thanks all.

I thought that tutorial used Particular (a somewhat expensive plugin, though I understand well worth it)

It would be helpful to see a screen cap of your settings.

Make your the "particles per second" is not set to zero. If this is zero, you'll have zero particles.

can you make your project file available, then we can look at it there?

thanks,
Derrick

I do not have that one. Yet, while using the shatter effect, I experience similar abberations. Once I set the texture setting lower, it went away.

oh no, you guys can't figure it out either? I wonder if I have defective software or something. oh man no streaks for me.

This is just a guess, but have you tried changing the velocity setting to something other than 0.0?

How do I post a project file?

Jim- Yeah, I tried but even if I set the velocity to 0.1 I have a bunch of pixels instead of just one.

If you havent already, try downloading Kramer's project file and see if it works on your computer

That's a brilliant suggestion FS Pro. I just haven't had the opportunity to try it yet.

I saw that tutorial. I'm pretty sure it used Trapcode Particular, not Particle World.
