Sorry if this is a noobish question but i am working on some motion graphics in AE CS3. I have a main comp in 3d space which i've imported pre-comps into which were also made in 3d space. The problem is when i make the camera zoom around my main comp my 'nested' pre-comps are no longer 3d, they just sit on a flat plain with no depth. Is there a way to turn these pre-comps into 3d within the 3d space of my main comp??
Sorry if that sounds confusing as i don't think i've explained it very well, i am still learning AE.
cheers.
Make the pre comp layer a 3D layer and then check the little sunshine icon (next to the shy guy) icon.
There you go.

Thanks rook but i still can't get this to work.
I think maybe i've set up the project incorectly or something. When i say 'pre-comp' i mean i've created a new composition within the same project and simply dragged it into another composition which i'm using as my final render. All the 3d switches are turned on and that little sunshine icon so i should be seeing my imported composition's full 3d depth within my main comp's 3d space right?
Is this the correct way of using 'pre-comps'? or am i doing something wrong?
thanks.
Nope, That sounds right. Hmmm....weird.
Not sure why it's not working.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Rook is right, that little sunshine is "collapse transformations", and should give you what you're after. Is there a camera in your master comp?

Ah found it! I was pressing 'Draft 3d' button instead because it also has a little sunshine on it. I found the right button now, it was very small. As soon as i pressed it everything in my main comp went crazily out of position, think i've got some tweaking todo. Thanks for your help guys.
