Any progressive scan camera. The higher the frame rate, the better.

Anything that does 720p50 or 720p60 (depending if you're on Pal or NTSC)

In the price range, I would say both the Panasonic HVX200 and the JVC-H200 are your best choice.

Also take notice of the upcoming Panasonic HMC150 camera- if it records the mentioned formats, it should be, price wise, the closest to the cameras you mentioned.

60p means 60 full frames per second, wich means better motion capturing of your sport images- its the standard for High Definition Sports capture.

Any progressive scan camera. The higher the frame rate, the better.

60p > 60i > 30p > 24p. Blindly choosing 'any' progressive scan camera is very wrong.

The a1 would be nice because it has a great lense on it.
You can get amazing close-ups with it if you need to.

Dont get a sony, they look so.... un-filmic and cant do 24p verry well. They suck for action sports. HVX, XHA1 (but i hate tape so thats one reason i wouldnt bother with the XH), maybe check out scarlet.
