Alright buddies, here's the rub. I'm sure everyone is familiar with how a CCD gets those white vertical lines when something bright is in view. Well, if I turn on the camera when it's pointed at a scene with pretty much any amount of contrast to it, I get this weird inverted 'blow out bars' thingy of the initial image it sees. Like, if I have a very bright light in view and turn the camera on, I get a completely black vertical line that doesn't go away till I turn the camera off and back on again. Turning the camera on with the lens cover avoids this.
It affects white balance as well. Shooting through a window in a tungsten lit room will get warm bars on the outside and a cool bar on the inside.
