Hi, the way I work may be strange but I like to pre-comp and then nest it into my working comp.

At that point, (after I get notes from the client) I usually have to make notes in my pre-comp that will adjust my comp view.

(hope that makes sense)

Anyway, is there a way I can view both my pre-comp timeline and view my working comp timeline at the same time?

I've tried a bunch of different configs with no luck....

should be possible right?

Please help my DVX AE gurus....

You can undock one time line and redock it above or below the other timeline so that they are stacked on top of each other. I guess you could do them side by side, but you would lose more of the timeline that way.

You would need some serious screen real estate, IMO, for it to be worth it though.

Yeah, I do that trick with the timelines but I need to see both comp windows open at the same time.

I can't seem to do that I can have multiple views of the same single comp open but I want to see both timelines and both comp views open at the same time so when I adjust the precomp I see it in my work comp without having to click back and forth.

possible?

You can create a new comp window and dock it next to the other and lock it, should work, I think.

When you bring in the footage you want to use, drag one at a time to the comp icon on the bottom of the prodject section. This will create new comps the exact size. Once you have two or more, take one of the comp windows (click on the galf ball textured area) and drag it all the way to the right. This will dock the window one over the other. Pre-caution... I have a problem figuring out which one I am sending to render Q. They are labeled; yet, you know how it goes when you are pressed for time or tired. The human element sneeeeks in.
