Uploaded some excepts from my new reel, dvd design. It has the three menu's, transitions to other menus as well as the video selection transitions. Authored in DVD studio pro, done in AE.
Hope you like...Don't mind the crappy youtube quality.

the lights flashing kind of bugged me. it was too on/off uniform for all of them.
I liked it a lot. I know when it is seen on an actual TV and not youtube, it probably looks awesome. Its original and your style. I have always enjoyed your stuff.

I really like the style. It's my kind of work !!
Great work. I love that antique Vaudville style.

Thanks dudes. And yes it looks alot sharper on a actual dvd , not youtube. Only thing i hate about DVD studio pro I could never figure out is: I could never get audio for a video transition. I also couldn't rotate text. I read up about these but I just heard that these options weren't included. Stupid. Sorry if that rant was unrelated.

noah, i really want to do this for my DVD's.
do you just make a video in AE and export it like you would any other video? Can you do this with Adobe Encore?
This is one area in my production that I want to enhance, any help is appreciated.

Basically my dvd is set up with 5 separate menu's.
Menu 1: 5-7 second intro (rated R logo that goes into what would be the static menu with video selection).
After this menu is done, i set it to timeout and jump to MENU2.
MENU2 is the selection of video which is a static shot but still a little motion involved (again all done in AE).
All the transitions and video selection transitions are all short clips done soley in AE and exported as .mov files. Because i don't know Encore, i cant say if they allow you to use VIDEO assets as transitions or not. That's the jist of it.
