here is a little mix I threw together, about 1.5min long
it was shot with the shutter at 1/500
ND 1 filter on
720p24 overcranked to 60fps
check it out and let me know what you think....had to compress it a little so its not the raw HD footage, the file is about 150mb so it will take a sec to load..

Nice footage Matt. You had some nice angles. I hope you brought a can of air with you to blow dirt out of the camera. ;)
Where was this shot?

haha .... well you are correct, I did have canned air with me the whole time, but the t-shirt over the camera technique seems to work ok also...
thanks, glad you liked the footy
this was shot out in Ocotillo wells, southern california

Very nice. Clean crisp high shutter slow motion.
How does the 720 p footage compare to the 1080 p footage as far as resolution and work flow?

I guess I am asking about how you feel about EX1 720 24p vs EX1 1080 24p in general.
1. Does 720 and 1080 p footage mix well together when edited back to back?
2. How does the image compare (is 1080p much sharper) on a big HDTV screen?
3. Does your editing system handle 720 easier/better than 1080p?
4. Do you use 720 p just for the slow motion capabilities or do you use it for other reasons?
Thanks!

as far as editing, they seem to go right into fcp and work ok together...
I can notice that my system does have to work harder to render the 1080p footage though, and Im working on a quad core 2.66ghz intel core mac, w/ 4gb ram.
it does seem that the 720p editing is slightly less time consuming, just with the rendering times..
I have a 720P hd tv that i have watched both 1080p24 and 720p24 on and I must say that the 720 looks sharp as hell! the 1080 looks just as sharp but Im not seeing a huge diff. I think this could be due to the fact that I am viewing it on a monitor that doesnt support that resolution, so it must be downsizing it or somthing to fit the 720p resolution..... and then again that could make no diff and maybe im just crazy..lol
But I do know that if you watch the 1080p footage on a 1080P HDTV it will be insane how clear it is, it will look sharper than watching 720p footage on a full1080p tv.
I shoot any non slowmotion footage for my films in FULL 1080P HD that way I have the best resolution to start with and then I can downsize from there, just incase I show any of my stuff on 1080p screens. the only reason I would use the 720p resolution is simply for slow motion sequences.
but I have heard that the compresssion doesnt have to work as hard on the 720p so its a smoother image than compared to the compression working hard to do the 1080p footage...
