ae & encore cs3

there are some pre-made menus in encore and when i select the menu and then go to create ae comp. (which it does fine). i proceed to make some changes in ae. and hit save. return to encore and there is no change. how do i make these updates appear in encore on the menu.
any advice would be warmly received.

hmm I havent used Encore that much but my only suggestion would be to try and save the edited menu under a different name

the template menu might be locked/ read-only or something...

when you edit a pre-fabricated menu in photoshop and then save it. the menu updates in encore then updates without any further process. I assumed the same would be true in ae., but i later found out you have to render the video out and then import it and then turn off the visible layers that have been animated.
