I am planning to buy an EX1 in the next few weeks and though i know it to be an outstanding camera i still have a few questions.

First of all is the 24p mode a real one, i mean does it look like 24p because i've read that other Sony models only employ a software emulation of this thing and it doesn't look like it.

And another thing if i shoot in 25p PAL mode is there such a big difference over 24p in terms of "film look" style ?

On FreshDV there is an article concerning the Brevis adaptor and amongst other things it says that the line resolution of the Fujinon is about 700 lines vertical/horizontal (i can't look at the article right now because the site is not working).
..shouldn't it be about 1920x1080 lines for the full HD format ?

I've seen that you can set the shutter speed in angle film-like style. How is this done ? By modifying the rolling shutter settings of the sensor or by some other means ? ... the real thing bugging me about this issue is: does it have the same effect as a real mechanical shutter in a movie camera would ?

And can you set it like the HVX200 on the framerates like, setting a 30p playing mode and shooting with 60 frames per second ? or 60p with a framerate of 30p and so on ....

Thanks!

Yes, this Sony uses a progressive chip and delivers genuine 24p. The FX1/FX7/Z1U don't.

No discernable difference.

This takes a long time to answer, so searching is a better idea, but the general idea is that pixels do not equate to lines of resolution as measured in TV Lines Per Picture Height.

No, nothing like that. It's just a different way to calculate the exposure time. The shutter works the same way, but the angle lets you set the exposure time in terms of a film camera instead of as a fraction of a second as is typical with a video camera.
