I'll start by saying that you people are great. Thanks for all the pro bono advice to the community at large.
I have a new XDCAM EX here, and I'm running FCP 5.1.4. Mac Pro 8 Core. I downloaded the import software from sony (the 2.51 version, I believe).
I opened final cut, selected the XDCAM import option, and the little helper app opened. It recognized my source camera, and seemed to identify a series of clips of different lengths. however, for each clip it says "no image available" and in the large viewer window it says "no media." The import button is inactivated.
All the clips seem to be "there," but somehow unavailable.
I tried dragging the folder off my SxS disk, placing it inside another folder, and pointing the helper app to that. The exact same thing happened.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
aemilia
