I am wondering if a chrosziel matte box will fit on the EX-1 without the filter stages hitting the mic/LCD.

Is anyone currently using a mattebox w/ EX-1?

I have a vocas mattebox and rails on my EX1.. The filter holders hit the LCD when the LCD is folded away, so I simply put the filter holders in upside down.

Just ordered this system form cavision in canada fro my EX1. US 1,200.00 plus 4% GST not bad considering all that you get.

yes, I have it - very snug fit. The filters are loaded from underneath - so make sure you lock the filters, as I have already had one drop when I picked up and moved the camera.

However, it does work and when the lcd is open, its fine for grad filters.

It is nice though, to be able to close the lcd, with the mattebox on unlike some matteboxes.

How's the balance? I imagine it is very tiresome since there is no counter weight.

I get it sometime next week. Could be a little front heavy but i plan on running a wireless set on the back end. Maybe that will help balance her out. Mind you the follow focus is extra from that picture on cavision's site. Like another $800.00.. I think I will wait on that piece. But I will report back when I receive it....

I have successfully mounted a Cinevate matte box and it works fine. I just cant have the LCD closed while using it. I also have to rotate the 4x4 filter trays to an upside down position.
I have the Ex on a base plate attached to rails. Not mounted directly to the Ex lens.

Don't have an EX1, but I feel mine has been designed with EX1 in mind.
I'm very happy. Quality on a pair with Chrosziel/Vocas, lightweight. Priced like Cavision products.
