Text onto textured surface??

I know I've done it before, but don't remember how.

Anyway, I want to add text in post, but make it look like it's actually written on a surface (someone's hand, to be exact).

So... I've got the picture, the main focus is the palm of someone's hand, and I'm attempting to "write" something on their hand. It has to be believable, is the issue.

Any ideas?

Ah, ha... displacement maps! is this the easiest way?

Easiest way is just an overlay transfer mode, but that might not do exactly what you're looking for.

Displacement maps will work, but may warp your text. I would do all the text in high contrast, color to taste, and then use blending modes as Tom Marshall suggested. Overlay may work, but so may Multiply or Linear burn, depending.
