Does anyone know which editing software will work with Windows XP Media Center? I currently have a Dell running xp media center with a pentium 4 processor, 2gb Ram, 107gb Hard Drive, and a 256mb Radeon graphics card. If someone has media center and a program that runs well on it please advise before I spend hundreds of dollars on something that will not work on my machine. Thanks in a advance.

Thanks. I had also read somewhere that Vegas works well with the DVX100B. Any comments on that?

yeah, vegas is fine on it. But if you have the choice, I would advise against media center. I've always liked XP as being very solid, but media center seems bloated. Uses up more memory. I woud choose Pro first, Home next.
But vegas does run fine on it.
And yes, it does fine with dvx footage.
Your computer is about exactly the specs of my editing machine. Well, my old one, just ordered a new one today...

Mark,
Had I known what a %&%#)%^!@#$%!)@%_!)#$& OF )(*#%^@&$^!_% Media Center is I wouldn't have gotten it either. As soon as I have the time to back everything up, I'm going to get pro put on my laptop.
My favorite "for example" online video in the mwv format won't play in Mozilla. When I tracked the problem down to Windows Media Center, the response from the tech help guy was "yeah, we know about it but we're not going to fix it."
Anyway, back to the original thread still in progress...
Memories- If you go with Vegas (I would again and again) you'll need Raylight to convert mxf files from the Panasonic P2 cards from the HVX. However, all of my experience with my DVX and Vegas has been great. All of my work is edited in Vegas on a Gateway laptop. All the stuff on my site except Winter is DVX, Winter was HVX.
Take a look and feel free to PM me with any questions.

Right now I will be only using the DVX. By the time I go to HVX I will hopefully have a new computer. Like you, I would never had media center put on my compuer had I known then what I do now. I think I am going to go with Vegas Pro 8. Does it have wedding and football graphics that come with it that are pretty decent? Thanks for all your help guys.

For editing work of DVX I use Vegas Pro. It best suitable editing software in Windows Media center OS environment.
