I'm looking to assemble a rod-system. I'm looking here (http://www.hysonfilms.com/Products.html) for the rods, and so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a low cost camera plate to use with the rods.

Essentially, my problem is that I don't have much to spend and yet I need several features. I would like a height adjustable plate (like here:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=335222&is=REG&addedTroughType=search)

and I would also need the adjustable support thing - also included with the cavision - for an adapter I'm building. But, at the same time, I'll need rods of around 18" because I'll also be using a mattebox. So I could buy the Cavision and replace the rods, but that just doesn't seem very cost effective. I could also buy something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/CINE-Rail-System-rod-support-for-Follow-Focus-dof-adap_W0QQitemZ350034229014QQihZ022QQcategoryZ15215 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but it doesn't have the adjustable support for the adapter, etc.

So, basically, is there a place where I can assemble the individual parts I need modularly?

Indifocus is definetly a good system...Cinevate has a nice riser as well, and its the lightest weight of all of the ones that I have used.

Also cavision has some decently priced systems.

IF your looking for a set of rails I have a pair of 24'' long stainless steel (15mm rails) that I don't need. I'll sell them to you for $52 ($2 for the paypal fee) plus shipping.

Email me if your interested...
