Background for Myspace

When I start a new project what do I select to have my project fit the whole screen say on Myspace...essentially a web page. If you click on my myspace link below you will see that my background that I created in PS does not fill the entire screen. I think I had it set to 8x10. I do not have the latest version of PS either if that should matter.

This is the situation you need to understand when sizing a background...

Everyone has a different size screen and different resolution set. So no matter how you do it, its bound to look different.

So with that being said.. I would set the background to be something either tiled or something that you can set to center on the screen and have the edges come out.

Here are 2 decent examples:

This one is my myspace and has a tiled background that works on any size screen

And that page has a backgronud graphic that is somewhat small and centered so it will fit down the middle and the edges roll off.


800 x 600
1024 x 768

those are 2 sizes to start with for a full sized background, but if you can stay clear from that.. please do. File size is always too big for web as well as layout is never the same for every computer you view it on.
