Are there 3rd party batteries for the EX1? Or do we still have to settle for the overpriced Sony monopoly? Also , where's the cheapest place to buy the Sony batteries?

Cheers

I'm not aware of any at this time, but the more important question is what alternatives to the costly memory cards. It struck me yesterday, when I was at Costco, looking at a $499 laptop with the slot for these cards, and realizing that I could buy two of these laptops for the price of one card. I sure hope the price of cards comes down. A couple dozen of them could run a small fortune at current prices.

You may want to check ROSCO. I got my EX1 and most of my accessories from that retailer.

The cost of these SxS cards makes me feel like the starting of PC age where 2MB of RAM cost over $200 to $300.
