Hey Guys -

New problem...when I try to load P2 footage from HVX via USB to my PC desktop I get a "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED" message. A more detailed message says the device has malfunctioned.

Double-checked the camera menu to confirm I AM in USB device mode. I have had this camera for 9 months and never had a problem loading to this computer.

A search on this forum turns up nada. So thanks for any suggestions

Did you install the drivers on this computer? When you run the driver installation program, you need to select ALL the connection methods and devices you want to install support for -- that means possibly selecting PCMCIA/PCCard drivers, multiple camera models, the P2 Store etc.

Also, make sure that this is a USB 2.0 port and not a USB 1.1 port. Going through a hub or using a USB port on a low-speed device like a USB keyboard or a LCD monitor may not work.

Yes to all. Like I say, I've been using this computer to load footage from my HVX since I bought it last summer.

Also, the connection was intermittent. I unplugged USB, then reinserted. Worked fine for a bit then status bar did not advance, even as the little Windows animated files kept flying from folder to folder.
