Congratulations Matt... It's the latest and greatest! As a video "business" person, I have to be very careful where my equipment "buy-in" points are. You don't want to buy things that will be obsolete next week. We got our EX1 in November and are now running it through it's paces in a commercial world. The results have been astounding... and more importantly... Our clients love it!

Hey Frank!
yeah man I am pretty pumped, I have always been a DVXuser but i felt it was time to switch it up and learn a new camera, and this one is pretty badass.... I am a Action sports filmaker so this will be interesting to see what I can get done!

You may want to stick to 1080i, or 720 60P for action sports.

thats a good idea....on my DVX100 I always shot 24P and the stuff looked killer, so why would you say dont shoot it 108024P? I am definatley going to utilize the 720p60 on the camera alot for slowmotion.

Action sports at 24P?

Unless you're going for a movie look, 24P will have a lot of judder and motion blur.
I take your not looking for the live action sports look that is broadcasted?

your exactly right, not going for that broadcast look at all, 24p is the way to go, if you do it just right it looks like 16mm, but ive only gotten those perfect settings a couple times.lol that was with my DVX though, we'll see how this baby pans out with the film look, might have to do a bit of tweaking on it

Indeed that's the beauty of this camera... there are so many ways to tweak it. You'll find a lot of great info on that cruising through the threads in this site. I learn a bunch from the guys noted above me here !!!
