I had heard that Owen Wilson was chilling and doing small favor parts but didn't dream a DVXUSER would be among the connected. Congrats Tommy. It's obviously the real deal because people here would completely disrespect and shun anyone arrogant enough to make such a claim flippantly.

Good luck Tommy, how far in pre are you?
I've got the 2nd draft of the script done. I need to do 2 or 3 more rewrites and I should be good to go. Then I'll have to take some time casting, which is the 2nd most important part of the process after the script.
Ah, Tommy!!!! This is way cool to see! .... Is the cast on your poster accurate? (David Concannon and Brittany Phillips) And can you tell us who Silent Storm Films and Studio 9X Productions are?
Hey Mark, no, the cast isn't accurate, yet. I'll ask both David and Brittany if they want to be in it, but I haven't heard from David in a while. I'm not sure he's still acting. Silent Storm Films is the name of my production company and Studio 9x is Max's.
Congrats Tommy. That is SO great that you got Owen Wilson. How'd you pull that off?
It's tentative... very tentative. http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/images/icons/icon12.gif

If you read an earlier post, Tom said this was the poster for the Horror Fest entry that never came together. He doesn't know what's going on with Concannon and thinks he may have given up acting altogether. Tommy says he's going to make a new poster that includes Owen Wilson but hasn't had the time yet so he used the old poster.

A good friend of mine is tight with Owen Wilson's agent and he has owed me a favor for a long time. Owen's under the radar of late, but is apparently willing to help out on little indie productions like this if you have an in. Fortunately, I've got one!

John did a very good job of constructing the story. It's written in a non-linear way and makes the reveals work well. When we were met to go over the story ideas I wanted, I kept telling him... no, it has to be darker...
It's definitely not a comedy...

Yeah, I've got the crew in place and will start casting soon, so everything should be good this time around. I never got anywhere near this close for the last festival. Kind of perfection paralysis I think they call it... where you want it to be so perfect that you can't even get started on it. But if it sucks, it sucks. All of the great directors made crap in the beginning of their careers, after all.

So here's an update...
Since I just can't get anyone to commit to this thing and don't hear back from other people, it's probably not going to happen...
Besides, I've been spending the last couple of weeks practicing my guitar for about 3 or 4 hours a night in order to become a professional musician... start a band, tour the world, fun stuff like that...

I hate to be immodest, but I really do play better guitar than 99% of recording artists. I've been compared to a cross between Clapton and Hendrix, but I believe my style is more advanced than either of them..

Exactly! I feel the same way and that is why I love sharing Mr. Astley's performance with the world. In some ways I feel I am like a modern day Johnny Appleseed -- only I'm not carrying a bag of seeds or having to flee under cover of darkness after knocking up the blacksmith's daughter.

But speaking of which, I just saw Rocky Balboa on Showtime... That was kind of an eye opener... If a 60 year old guy can beat the crap out of someone 30+ years younger than him, then I need to get off my ass and start making things happen.

Tommy! Who are you considering for director???>??
Not quite sure yet... I've got a friend who's a transportation manager for a TV show and he's good friends with one of the directors / producers. I might be able to get him to direct. He's done a lot of episodic television and quite a few features...
Thanks, Dean. I'll let you know.

I'll probably have the running time come in at 10 to 12 minutes. The nice thing about not having a 6 minute time restriction is now the story won't suffer due to not developing certain aspects of the plot.

Is that good or bad?
