Hello, my name is Wyatt. I tried introducing myself in the "who's in?" thread, but I think that may have been a bad place to do so, either that or nobody meant to respond to me (I hope not though). Anyway, I helped on the entry "An Orange Rose" for the last competition and started watching this site for awhile and I thought I'd like to try entering my own film this time around. So, yes, just looking to introduce myself to the site.

And sorry if this is the wrong place to be introducing myself, I wasn't able to find a better place.

Hey there, and welcome! This is a fine place to introduce yourself, although you could also use the Cafe if you didn't plan on entering this fest. What part are looking to play in the production of a film? If you are doing your own but need a writer, let me know as I am offering my script services free of charge for this fest.

Good luck and it's good to have you on board!

I do plan on entering the fest. Actually, I'm hoping to write my film as well, but I really do appreciate the offer. And thanks very much for the kind welcome.

Wyatt, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself. What part of Minnesota? What do you do? What sort of films interest you and what specific aspects of the craft do you consider yourself most drawn to (writing/shooting/lighting etc.) ... You'll no doubt find that you have lots of common interests with people here.

Nice to see so much new blood injected into the forum these days.

Well, I'm from around Minneapolis, so I don't quite sound like the Fargo characters. Mostly, for stuff to do, I just watch films and play some instruments badly and listen to music. Some favorite films are: American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, A Clockrowk Orange, Memento, Amadeus... thats a good start anyway. The crafts in film I like most are directing, cinematography, writing, scoring, and editing. Thanks for asking.

Welcome Wyatt! Nice list of fav's up there.

Will this be your first film that you will be making? Or have you made others (I realize that you are new here).

I do have to laugh at your list of interests.... you remind me A LOT of me! LOL. And that may not be such a good thing!

Seriously, I do write, direct, shoot, edit and have scored my own films, as well as do the sound design. (Thankfully I got Herman Witkam to take over the scoring part on my last film and plan to have him do my next including sound design.)

Good luck to you! If you have any questions about anything, feel free to shoot me a PM. I enjoy passing on what I've learned!

Again, welcome!

-Ted

Thanks for the kind greeting, Ted. No, this won't be my first film, not that I have made a great many so far, but it will be one of my first in a competition (not including 'An Orange Rose' for the last fest, that wasn't my film, I was just a helping hand).

Thats cool to hear that someone else wants to be able to do all of that (direct, write, shoot, etc.) themselves too, I wasn't really sure what to expect from the people here.

Thanks for the 'good luck', if I have any questions, I'll ask.
Thanks again.
