BT-LH80W. I just bought one and it's fan-frickin'-tastic.

Or if you can pick one up cheap the Marshall 7inch HDA monitor has worked fine for us with the HVX.

Barry, are you using it with your red also?

Yes, I got it for use with both; I use the HD-SDI input (extra $ option) with the Red. Just shot some Civil War re-enactment stuff with it in the field, it worked very well.

That said, it's not ideal for a Red because the Red outputs menus and things that no HD-SDI monitor can show. You really need to use one of the Red viewing options (Red LCD or Red EVF) to take full advantage of what the Red outputs. So I've ordered an EVF as well. But the BT-LH80 is working great in the interim. With the Red I use its 2x focus assist, and then pop up the LH80's focus assist, and I got pretty darn good focus even in the field, even on 4K footage.

With an HVX it's nothing short of fantabulous. The focus-in-red + pixel-to-pixel makes it just perfect. I also used it with an HPX500 for shooting some pick-up shots with an HPX500 and with the 500 you can use a proper HD-SDI cable, which is soooooo much better than the component cable.

I also ordered a D-tap power cable so I can power it directly from a 500 or Red, with no need for a battery on-monitor to weigh down the unit.

I'll second the lh80 - I knew I'd like it, but I cant shoot without it now! Ok, I could, but its made my life alot easier. Focus check is a button push away, the colors are accurate (as accurate as an lcd is going to get), and the waveform monitor is a godsend. I just wish it weighed less... I'm even using it as a CC monitor. I dont do any heavy CC'ing but its good enough for minor levels tweaking and a heck of a lot better than any of the consumer large screen plasmas/lcds...

I'll have to check out the hdsdi in.
Good call on the D-tap. that thing is already a beast.
