I just bought a Sony DSR 500WS and was wondering if anyone has used one in a multi-camera switch and if so how did you connect it to the switcher? Or if anyone has experience with the DSR 500 and one of Sony's multicore CCUs, which one?

I have done multicam with my DSR-500WS. Either through the 26pin connector, which you can use the sony controller to shade the camera, or if it is a cheaper production, just using a composite cable.

The dsr 500 can't hook up to a ccu m5. the 570 can. I've used dsr 300's in a studio setup, all plugged in composite to the switcher. It takes time to go back and forth to each camera to adjust the setting, but we don't have the cash or cable length for some of those paint boxes.
