Need Help!

hello everyone

i have a problem with photoshop cs3
when i view my photos striaght from the camera throught the usb,the images look amazing,but once i open it up in photoshop the quality drops dramasticly,i dont understand why this happends,im using my nikon d40 in raw format
which is NEF,can someone please help

When you open it are you viewing at actual pixels?

ya it is,doese it have anything to do with updating it?

Probably the color space default you have set in Adobe

Try this - Go to... Edit-Preferences-Color Settings
Select ... Settings - North America Genral settings 2
RGB...ProPhoto RGB

That should do it.
