FYI, what you are dealing with here was one of the reasons we got RID of the FS100 completely. after we butchered up 3 recordings out of 10 takes we decdied the P2 workflow was safer and more robust and sold the thing and bought two 16gb cards which gives us a continuous workflow to record without stopping (3 in the cycle) and what a blessing!

we dumped the fs100 cuz of this problem AND to eliminate another battery to have to worry about AND so that we could see what our storage media was doing ON THE HVX100 SCREEN - AND - to eliminate another cumbersome cord!

hope this helps with the future.

Who knows............... but IMO, sounds like a good reason to write it off for tax purposes.

Definitely sounds like time to write this one off to experience and move on. Personally I am a huge fan of the FS100. For us it's an error free acquisition method that gives us welcome extended recording times. But, it is a hard drive and susceptible to breaking when dropped. Sorry you had to learn that lesson the hard way.
