Is anyone sleeping on one of these? My back always hurts and my current sleeping situation isn't helping (one of those self-inflating heavy duty air mattresses, ha). I saw you can get an 8" mattress from wal-mart for $180 and was thinking about giving it a try (it'd be on the floor, no base)

I use one of the memory foam mattresses and I love it. I think it's great and find sleeping on regular beds uncomfortable now. Considering your back always hurts, I'd give it a shot (compared to your current sleeping arrangement) and hopefully it'll help ease the back pain you're experiencing.

these things are incredible.
mine is on the floor too in the corner of my room.
ps. i just stayed for a week with friends in oregon and slept on an air mattress every night. on the way home i decided i am never going to sleep on one again.

One time when I was in transit w/o all my creature comforts I used that same exact pad, well worth every penny... if it was propped off the ground it'd feel like a real bed.
I picked up one at Costco a year ago, far better then a regular mattress.

Well, I guess I have to side for the anti-foam mattress clan. I HATE MINE!!! WITH A PASSION!!!
6 months after I got it the thing started to get a depression in the middle. The company that made/sold it came out and said it's under warranty and we get a new one. Got another one, and it's doing the same thing. Company came out to look at it, and now it's not under warranty...BUT, they said they would fix it (for a small fee), or sell us a new mattress at a discount. But, there's nothing wrong with it. And this thing wasn't cheap - this is a $1500 mattress...biggest headache of my life. Especially with a wife that's 8 months pregnant.
Our's is made my King Koil...FWIW.
