You guys have really stepped up this time. What a fantastic fest this is turning out to be!

50 entries.. what a great turn out.

There are probably more good films this time around than I have seen in past fests, and the good films are really freaking good.

It just feels really great to be a part of this fest and amongst all of you guys/gals right now.

Thanks. You all rock.

Later,
Jason

yes, I agree! I am witnessing one great film after another!!!

This is a wonderful collection of films.

Thanks guys, for providing such rewarding films! (makes it so much easier to watch all of these when you aren't staring at the 6 minute timer! )

Ditto! This Fest is strong. I'm already looking forward to the next one since I've watched almost all of the entries. Just a few more to go. :)

Some people have grown in leaps and bounds!

Cheers,

Mike

Absolutely.
I really think the theme brought out the best in people this time around.

And some of you wanted to see 'ActionFest'!

YES. I think that Luis (above me here) is right about what he's sayin' off-handedly: These kinds of fests evoke-- like DramaFest did-- genuine feelings.

That's what's pretty good about this one.

I'm loving how the community rallied around this fest. Truth be told, many of us were concerned how this fest would be received, considering that every time we ask you what you want to do you always say "Sci-Fest" or "Action-Fest". :)

But Barry_S was brave, he put out the theme of love, and some of us thought you guys would skip this fest. Instead you entered in bigger numbers than most of our fests, with stronger entries overall than most of our fests! Well done, filmmakers!

I def think the theme over genre is a good idea. Gives people enough leeway. We have a music video in here, a sci-fi, some noir, in addition to very naturalistic stuff.

Totally agree, Mark.
The 'theme' fest not only makes it more interesting as a filmmaker by giving us more freedom in terms of what style/genre we choose -
but now as an audience member it makes it more interesting because I have a greater variety of films to watch.

It would grow very tiresome to watch 50 films of the same genre.
Just my 2 cents.

Well, I mean, the turn-out this fest should pretty much put GEnre to rest. There were so many opportunities to do Genre within, nobody was forced to do anything aside from incorporating love into the mix.

This should be a testament to why theme might be the "overall" better choice for future DVXfests if the goal is to get a lot of participants and to grow the skillset in several areas.

Yeah, but you don't have much more room to talk either Como ... your film was pretty darn good too. Well done. :)

I wish I could have gotten this one in time. I just shot my love fest film anyway, although now it has nothing to do with the fest, obviously. This is a great fest so far.

Agree, let nature take it's course... Amazing things happen that way!
