Hey, guys. If a film doesn't work for you one time, just back up and try it again.

The system is randomly hitting the different mirrors, so the chances that a film is bad across every mirror is pretty slim. Just try it again and it should be fine.

Also keep in mind that there are probably 80 million hundred people downloading 2 gigs worth of films all at once :)

We've got lots of mirrors, so there should be sufficient backbone and infrastructure in place to handle the load and to make sure that all the films made it successfully out to at least one of the mirrors.

So, if at first you don't succeed, click, click again... and it'll probably work.

Also... just to prove my point :)

All of the films mentioned above have worked for me when I attempted to download them. So, there may be a mirror that has a bad copy of a film, but likely not all.

It's still good to report them, so Larry can hunt down which mirror it is and fix it. Just don't take this list as a definitive "These films don't work" list.

EDIT: @ Kholi. It's cool... Like I said in this post here, we need the list so larry can fix the individual links to individual mirrors that might not be working. Just might be good if you add the info that I posted to your first post for those who are just glancing :)

I tried to download "Love" after reading all of the errors. I am not getting it either.

If this is working on your server, Jason... can we move the direct link to it?

yeah. for now, you can just download it off of my server directly. Larry will have to fix it when he has a chance.

You can post the direct link to my server in your thread if you need to as well.

I just ask that where possible you guys use the dvxfest page to download the films, and only use my server when necessary, so we can keep track of all the stats and such.

So, in the case of Ted's film, feel free to download it using the direct link to my server that I provided one page back on this thread.

Also, if you want to provide a direct link from your thread to your film, please wait until I send you instructions on what link to use (so we can utilize the generous mirror space, and keep bandwidth throttling to a minimum).

If you find any other films causing a problem, please list it here and I'll check it. Jason is completely right, in most cases re-downloading will solve the problem, but please list it here as it's probably got an issue on one particular mirror and I will find it and fix it.

No you're fine ... that was a general statement cause I know people often like to put a direct download link in their thread and I always give them a url that goes through our system ... those will be coming as soon as I clean up the few errant files.

Downloading from the main download link should work for both these films. Again, if you have any additional issues, try again and it should work, but in either event post here so I can check it out.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for it, but something seems bunk about my video file.

"last_chance_p!body.mov"

I've downloaded it four times so far and each time the thing has the same glitches. It's really choppy and seems like there's some kind of error when watching it. The file seems to have developed an issue in between me uploading it and it being put up for download.

I'm curious who I should contact or PM. Or maybe find out if I can re-upload it. Any ideas? I'll host a link to it on my server and post it in my thread for the time being.

Re-upload it and PM Larry about it. He'll check it and update the distribution system if necesarry.

In the meantime, Mikko is up and would probably let you upload a temp version to his server until Larry can work out a permanent solution with you. Contact him via PM and see what he says.

Resuming is a feature of the downloader - which is actually managing the transfer.

I tried it twice and it worked for me, so it's likely just one or two of the mirrors. Larry'll have it fixed in no time, b/c he's cool like that.

I just went to each of the 13 mirrors and in every one of them they have the complete file. So the only possibility is a problem with one of the mirrors, but if that were the case then that mirror would cause problems serving any of the films.

I will continue to look into it and see if I can find any other potential issues causing it, but at the moment there is nothing specific I can do to fix it.

Have a lot of people been having trouble downloading the film?

Just two so far.

I had the same issue with Minogue Space, as did someone else... not sure if that helps.

The fact that both of them stopped early and on different ISP's means something must be up? Not sure what though.

Well... it just worked. But that took a lot of work and Zim was having issues as well. He tried a few times and couldn't get past 12 MB's

That's the same message I have been getting. I ended up downloading individuals. Only have the last two compete movies, and the non-competes left to download. Will get those this morning.

I am running current FireFox version on XP. I also tried with ie (not sure the version)

I haven't been able to download anything for a few days now. Download stops at a fraction of a percent, then I get a time-out. This happens with all files I try.
