Sony announces a 35mm sensor @ 25 Mpixels. I wonder what it will cost?

Just like Sony... A day late and $100 too expensive when they show up to the party.

That's generally true Jeremy. This time though, maybe they're a day late because they were making it be such a low noise device? :)
... this new chip promises to output all pixels at 6.3 fps with lower noise than other designs of similar pixel-pitch thanks to its “Column-Parallel A/D Conversion Technique” whereby each column of photosites is given its own Analogue to Digital Converter.
Late is ok by me because I'm not yet in a position to purchase what I want for a dslr and 100 dollars more is ok too if it means lower noise.

Long and short is we won't know anything until it's in a camera.

Why the wait, I had EOS-1Ds some 5 years ago already...
