Dude. hit it. hit it hard. Ask Kholi about the bagging on you're in for for the next year or so if you don't lay the hammer down and bust it out.

haha yeah, you've still got a few days left. shoot and shoot fast. I'm sure you'll be able to come up with a solid entry in time. Good luck!

Way to make him feel better about it, Matty
:)

Uga - listen to Mark.
This is going to be the most supportive group of filmmakers until Sunday.
By that point if you haven't finished your entry they will turn on you like rabid dogs....

...all in good fun, of course.

Plus - you don't want to back out now.
I mean, you already bought a sweatshirt for god's sake!
The thing will practically finish itself at this point.

Hopefully you have a very quick and easy shoot. Obviously, there isn't a lot of time!

I say shoot something, put it together and enter! The experience is valuable no matter what you submit. You'll learn something that you can take to your next project!

Good luck!

My main entries is finished except for music, however I'm working on another short which may be shooting Saturday and happens to fit the criteria for this fest as well... Kinda comes down to whether I feel like sleeping at all this weekend.

that stuff only matters to people who care about things like "production value" and "shooting in focus". this is me we are talking about. :cheesy:

well if you have everything available, there's no reason why even procrastinators (like me for this particular contest) can't get a good looking production in. Now as for whether or not it will be in focus.... that's entirely up for debate

Zak Forsman
02-05-2008, 03:32 PM
haha! i had plenty of time and MOST of my production is out of focus. but that was by design.

yeah, like Matt said, IFHY was shot with two Canon HV20s. one had a Brevis, the other had an SGpro. in the images you see above, the top is Brevis, the bottom is SGpro.

good to see images from the HV20. ive been considering using one for a smaller compact 2nd camera... like for wide angle shots in tight quarters....

what kind of footprint does it have with the Brevis connected?

I'm using the HV20 as well. I almost had the Brevis this shoot.... damn thing had a big hair in it and I had no time to play with it.

If only this was "Hairy Fest".

well, here is the SGpro and HV20... for the Brevis just imagine it without the box and rails.

I am glad, I am not the only one..

Progress.. I just write the script; it took me 2 hours and I am quite satisfied..(yesterday I spoke with several people, and they said that the story is exciting )...

Yestrday I managed to put DIY shotgun on the stick, and to make the appropriate wiring..

Today I will ( probably ) make the DIY 35mm adapter..and maybe dolly..

Et evening/night we will shoot..and tomorrow editing..

Fish me luck..

I finished a third draft of the script last night (Friday). And I'm in the middle of the first/only day of shooting/editing. Did I win? I'm actually waiting on my cast to get back here from lunch so we can get started. I'm sure my film will be a self-proclaimed masterpiece (or something like that)

I was challenged to enter another DVXfest from a friend of mine on here and I was totally stoked about a two months ago. Then I got busy doing some live comedy stuff that I really forgot to do anything for this until the last week or so. Then he sent me a rough cut of his film, and I felt compelled to get my shit together.

So here I am. Ready to give it a go under the hardcore 24 hour Guerrilla filmmaking time table. Wish me luck.

Hope your shoots are going well, Leteeci, Ugafan, and who ever else will be doing this thing down to the wire.

Lots of people coming down to the wire eh? Good luck to you all - making it like a 24 hour film challenge is a fun, exciting way to enter the fest.
