Photoshop quickie

I have a picture with 2 subjects, moon, clouds. I want to create layers from the individual objects, so when I go into after effects I can animate separately and fly around. How do I cut the subject out and create a separate layer from that cut( so it's just the subject on transparant background). What tool do I use?
