I've decided that my other film wasn't working, so I wrote something brand new, from scratch, that fits in with the theme a lot better. So I wrote a four-page script called "A Play About Us" where a man sits alone in a theater, and tells the story of an intense relationship that ended, almost in long monologue form, while it simultaneously cuts away to two actors on stage, performing a dramatized version of the story that he wrote, exploring the relationship, and how it went wrong. I stepped outside of reality a bit to tell a conventional story in an unconventional way.

Wow, Matt... good luck with this one. It's nice to start from scratch sometimes. It can really be exhilarating.

that's great man. uploads are Wed night, so if you shoot, get home and cut real fast, you should be golden. :)

Isn't the deadline on Sunday? I've pulled short films out of my ass with much less time. Regardless, I'm really making it for myself, so even if I can't make the deadline, I'm still going to finish the film.

Wednesday fell through. We're definitely not going to make the fest deadline, but we're still going to make the film. I think it'll be a better film this way.
