I am about to buy a DVX 100A in a couple of months. I was wondering what would be the best accessories to get as well. I was looking around and found Panasonic's Anamorphic lens adapter listed at around $750-800! Seeing as that is EXTREMELY expensive for my budget, are there any lower cost alternatives? Aside from that, I have a fun question to ask :-) , and this may sound pretty stupid but I have been thinking about this. Is it possible to use the Anamorphic lens with the built-in "sqeeze" mode to get a really-really-really wide picture? I want to spend no more than $200-300 on top of the camera price. Thanks for the help! (This is my first post here) :-)

I am pretty sure the anamorphic lens does not make your footage any wider. The built in squezze mode is done electronically, while the anamorphic adapter is, well, optically, resulting in higher quality and resolution, than using just the built in squeeze mode with no adapter. However, I think when using the anamorphic adapter you also need to set your camera to squeeze mode. If I only had $300 to spend, I would go for a solid mic or decent tripod.
