Thanks. Glad I could suprise you.
Jack, I had no idea you could be funny, too. I was laughing ALL the way through. The "dialogue" at the end was truly inspired...:love4:
Heheh thanks sir. There are definitely some comic overtones layered in the deep social commentary.
Jack, you're a big meanie. Why must you toy with my emotions?
Hahah, sorry it was such a roller coaster for you thanks for watching

This film is so funny, I thought it was serious because of the title. I love your work, amazing job!

As I saw the opening credits I remember just thinking... "wow, this could be really cool".
Then I looked at clock and noticed how far into the film it was before the credits even ended, while thinking "wow, how much effort did he put into what can only be like a 2 minute film".
And shortly afterwards I had a wtf moment.
Fun to watch though.

I tried to watch this 3 times last night and it wouldn't make it past "dead" in the credits... I updated Quicktime today and it finally played. That was the performance of a lifetime... I felt like I was watching the masculine answer to flashdance. My emotions are on a rollercoaster *crunch crunch* mffph I mean... this flick was mffph *chew... crunch* delicious. Better then good... it was great! I'm voting first place for this one.

Where did you find that tiny actor, or did you just have a really big monitor?
It must have been hard not to get reflections in the LCD.
PS I'm in your house right now (that little guy from Lost Highway)

Not to mention a smaller role in the current entry "CONSTANCE." Well, the cast member is still sizable...

You bastards actually tricked me! I read up to page 21 before watching it, downloaded all the fest's movies fired up front row, got comfortable, decided to watch jack's first given his history...and....and..."WHAT THE FU**."
Then I went back and read the comments and fully understood them. Obviously as soon as I saw it I knew it was a joke but I didn't expect one and everyone else hyping it up didn't help walking into it.
All I can is DAMN YOU ALL!

Someone explain to me how back at Dramafest someone made a joke-entry (people on toilets, etc.) that was actually well thought out satire, and he got roasted for it. Now this, and everyone laughs. We're going to need some icecream to go with this double-layer cake of hypocrisy.
Now don't get me wrong, I take the side of the satires, both are funny, though this one was more of a blatant setup, more of a direct f*ck-you-viewers. Though I think every fest should have one to keep things from getting too serious.

JDS, this was hilarious, i was totally caught by surprise.
At first i was bummed because i wanted to see a new film by you (and still do)
but then as it sunk in i was sort of relieved. Because you were talking about
a 15k budget and you had screen shots of greenscreen wire-fu, i was gettin'
nervous that you were gettin' all michael bay on us.
And then when the opening
credits came on and it looked like the intro to a super hero movie complete with
green glows on the lettering... i thought you had jumped the shark!
And then it was all a joke. And a damn good one.

I asked for permission from the fest mastera before hand, and explained the premise, and how the "piece" consisted of the film and thread in tandem.
I think the big difference is I asked for permission and it's pretty clear where I'm coming from. i.e., the forum's most elaborate Rick Roll done out of affection. '
In fact to the fest mods it was explicitly clear as I told them before hand. So they didn't have to sit around and wonder if I was mocking the whole fest or not, which is how many perceived the previous gag entry that you allude to.
Luckily people are having a good time with it.
EDIT: I just reread your post and I think maybe you are just referring to how the general populace received both films ... in which case what can I tell you, a joke, satire, or a practical joke can be taken one of two ways, as appreciated and funny (even when it's on you), or as offensive and inappropriate (just ask Michael Richards).
I don't think it's hipocrisy that people seem to have enjoyed this and bristled at the other. Just the way the joke landed.
But since I see the thread and the short as one "piece" you're really commenting on my work, and as such, I thank you for your viewpoint and the discussion ... which will hopefully die down within a page or so the last few unsuspecting souls can be had :)

heh heh ... thanks for playing along guys. Surprised the gag has gone on for this long, thought it woulld die down much sooner.
Anyway ... locking the thread down and I'm gonna ask Larry to take it out of rotation until after voting closes - reason being it's hard enough to see all 50 conpetition films so I don't want to take attention away from seeing a few more films and voting.
Again surprised the gag lasted this long. :) After the contest I'll post some real BTS on perpetraiting the gag (there was never any Red despite photographs posted here to the contrary)
So go see some real films that people have poured their hearts and souls into and VOTE!
