View Full Version : Weird Frame Rate Problem

I recorded some footage on my HVX at 720p 24pn at 24 fps, but when I bring the footage into my NLE (FCP 6.02) it all plays fine except -- two clips play back funny. When I check the vid rate I see that all the clips are 23.98 fps, but the funny ones are 9 fps and 20.98 fps. What is going on? I know for a fact I recorded all the clips in the exact same way. Anyone else experience this?

Also, when I play these two clips, the video plays back fast and the audio plays normal -- something the HVX cannot do. Which leads me to believe the problem is either in my NLE or another Leopard bug...

I just played the source clip directly in the Quicktime Player. Same problem. Could it have happened during the Log & Transfer somehow?

Still haven't figured this one out. Been at it all day. Could it be a glitch in the HVX? I do have the 2 fps frame rate hack save on my scene file dial. Could that be making things screwy?

No ideas? The other thing I did was drag and drop the footage on a Mac, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Is there anyway I can restore this clip from 20.98 fps to 23.98 fps?

not 100% sure if this will help, but, I had a fairly similar problem a while back, and the (thankfully) easy cure was simply unchecking the 'remove advanced pulldown and duplicate frames' option box in the preferences pane of the log and transfer window and re-transferring the glitchy clips. good luck.
