Has anyone done a lens test on the stock HVX Leica lens? I need to know at what setting it is at is sharpest.

Thanks!

I understand not to go past f5.6 but at what mm setting is the Leica lens at it's sharpest? I have been told 6.5mm or Z24 but have not seen any test to back this up.

Anyone do any tests?

Will anyone get mad if I repost this in the Tech section? Ment to the first time...My fault.

According to Barry's book (if I remember correctly) there's no measurable difference from f2.8 to f8

Are you refering to the lens or the iris?

Thanks Chip

He is referring to iris, the "f" indicates f-stop.

The other term you are looking for is "focal length."

Hope that helps.

Ahh, yes J.P.

At wat focal length is the Leica glass at it's shaprest?

you are referring to the "sweet spot" of a lens. aperture wide open shows aberrations more, closed down affects diffraction limiting, so there is a "sharpest aperture" usually about 2-3 stops from wide open.

everything I've read does not address focal length as a variable.
