I am very heavy into hidden camera work and use the DVX only for the "official" interview and documentation material. The main work however is based on hidden and finger cameras, body worn or mounted.
For the body worn we use mainly small DV consumer cams with analog input.

NOW my question: does anybody know of a small ( tiny) assemply which just does analog to DV ? My dream would be a matchbook sized thing which takes analog video and outputs FW .

Does something like this exist?

I imagine the actual convertor on these consumer cams is the size of a stamp.
All I would need is to assemble it in a small box and solder the in and outputz.....:Drogar-Happy(DBG):

The reason we need DV ? the material is often super urgent hot and needs to go into editing right away, so no conversion time possible, IT NEEDS TO BE DV !!

I know a lot of small boxes which do what we need in MPEG4 but we need MPEG2 DV format !!!!

If anybody has a tip I would be most happy ....

Umm.. DV isn't MPEG2.

And I don't think there are any standard Analog->DV converters that small.

About the smallest I know is the Canopus ADVC55: http://www.canopus.com/products/ADVC55/index.php
