the camera is sending menu info over sdi...it must be stopped

All the viewfinder info (zoom, aperature etc.) is being sent over sdi to our monitor. How do I stop it?
I've mashed many buttons with my clumsy fingers, but I don't know how we started it or how we should stop it.

Its in the menu, go to SDI and turn off the data. I think its under the display settings or the other functions.

Lies. I went into the menu and did that. I went to output and turned off metadata and the other thing you can turn off. No dice.

Here's the thing. As near as we can tell we didn't change any settings. Our monitor was clean, now it has the viewfinder output on it.

Under the flip out monitor door there is a switch that says "Output Character". Make sure that is set to off.
