500 hot shoe clip

There is a thread over at another forum that has peaked my interest... That being where does one find an adapter for the hot-shoe like thing on the handle of the 500?

Also, what purpose does that receptor serve? I have never seen any on-board accessories with a female receptor - only male.

That screw is 1/4-20 threaded, you could put a stud or an articulated arm in. Stud can hold a batt light or your wireless rcvr. Arm can hold a monitor.
