Just so everything is clear: I hope it isn't against contest rules but the second promotional picture is one i found off google images. If its a problem i can remove it. It just fits so perfectly.
Thanks, by the way. I'm very excited and hope I can pull it off by the deadline.

Love the image, with the prison bars and the bible?
Intriguing title. Looking forward to seeing this.

Thanks Robert! an update on progress: Script is on it's third revision, the word is out on actors still haven't secured the leading roles. Locations are being scouted and arranged. I am very excited about a possible location. More on that if we secure it.
We will be cutting it very close to the deadline, but if we pull it off I will be happy. I only put this into motion less than two days ago.

Welcome to the fest, and good luck.
About the image, unless you have permission to use that image, it would likely violate copyright and would be best if you removed it.
You are only allowed to use original content, or content to which you own the rights to or have explicit permission to use.
Good luck again.

A little update: The casting process is in full swing. should have a cast nailed down soon. Locations scouting continues... grrrr..... its tough to find good locations.
Another interesting development: I'm workin on licencing the music of "Chris de Burgh" for this project if anyone is a fan of his.
Very exciting stuff.

Well it isn't going to come together in time for the contest. On the bright side, this contest inspired me to start this project and now a lot of us are very excited about continuing it so it will still be done fairly shortly after the love fest. I'll post it in the user films section when its finished.

Damn, sorry to hear that - but glad to hear you're seeing it through and doing it right.
Best of luck, and keep us updated.

Well, glad to hear you got something going. Sad to hear you won't be able to finish it time for the fest. Wish you the best of luck on the project either way.

Thanks guys. The licensing is working out surprisingly! Some of the songs I wanted were unavailable, but by contacting the artist's management company they have began working with me to get me something appropriate.
I highly suggest people try it out. A little correspondence can get you a lot.

Is it costing you a lot of money?

No... I asked them nicely and explained my situation and they are working with me to get a song that I like, they can provide, and waive the licensing fee. It won't work with all artists because most of their rights are held by recording studios but this artist owns some of his own rights completely so it is available as an option.

I tried that once with a Carpenter song... no dice!
Although they were nice with the rejection. :)

Damn you got a rejection from them?
Lucky.
I tried to get the rights to use 'Hurting Eachother' once - never even heard back from anyone after numerous attempts.

I went to John Carpenter's site and emailed via the fan comments. That got me his assistant, then later, the rejection. :)
With "fair use" I'm starting to wonder if I can use their Music before 1972?

Congrats on the licensing. Love the title. Looking forward to the film.
Thanks. The title is actually subject to change. Although it does get the job done. :P
Any mods can feel free to put this in the user films section or a more appropriate one since it will no longer be a lovefest official entry.
