Noob HVX FCP Import Problems

I shot an event with the HVX to tape, 480i/24p. When I capture it into Final Cut Pro it looks like garbage. Oversaturated and very grainy, blurry, fuzzy. What is the correct setting to capture it into FCP so it looks like how I shot it and not like some $200 camera did? It looks fine on the camera monitor. I have a deadline I need to meet! Help me please!

can you post a footage frame ?

Prior to importing, did you go into EZ setup and set FCP up for 480i DV?
What size window are you looking at the footage in? I can fill my screen
with a 720 or 1080 picture and it will look sharp. Not so with 480i.
