I'm sure there are some students and educators out there on this board, so I wanted to write and recommend against using Journey Ed (http://www.journeyed.com/) for any software or hardware purchases. Although they do have good discounts and all that, they are disorganized and have terrible customer service.

Several months ago I ordered an Avid Mojo from them, which through their site costs about $1,000. Initially they told me it would take three weeks to ship. I needed it for a project so I called and asked them if they could expedite the shipping. I received it a week later.

All was well until five days later, when I mysteriously received a second Mojo in the mail. I immediately called them and informed them of their error, since I had only ordered one. They sent me a shipping label and I sent it right back to them. Never even opened the box.

I track the package and confirm its delivery a couple days later. I assume everything is fine after that.

A few weeks go by and I get my credit card bill in the mail, and I see that not only did they charge me twice, but they did not refund me the $1,000 for the second order. I called their customer service and they told me that they only had one order on record, and that they did not have the return on file because there was no record of the order ever having taken place. I told them that was impossible because I had been sent two items and there were two charges on my credit card. I asked to speak to a supervisor, who asked around the office and then informed me that, according to their records, I had placed two separate orders on two separate occasions, and yet, there was still no record of the return. I told her that I had only placed one order, which was the truth.

Basically, to make a long story short, I had to call just about every day for the next 2 1/2 weeks to make sure they were looking into my issue, and every time I had to explain the situation to the same people all over again. Finally, I asked to talk directly to their shipping/receiving department. I asked for the person who had signed for the return package (thankfully UPS records the name of the person who signed, so I knew who to ask for). He found my box under somebody's desk, and then he went and talked to customer service and they finally refunded me the $1,000.

If anyone here chooses to use Journey Ed, be very wary and keep all your records. I, for one, will not be purchasing from them ever again.
