My FS-100 and HVX-200 not being nice. I can't shoot to p2 format. It works when I am shooting to quicktime files but not to p2. I dont get it. I've upgraded the firmware in my camera to the current version and my fs-100 is also 4.0.

When I organize clips it organizes them, but FCP (6.0 on my G5 running 10.4.11) wont import them, it will scrub and play the files in the ingest window but wont import them. When I view the files with P2CMS it says the files are incomplete.

Any ideas if there are any settings that would cause said problem?

My camera settings are:
Rec format is 1080i/60i
480i rec mode is dvcpro50
Rec function is normal
One shot time is 1 f
interal time is 2f
Prerec mode is off
Mic Alc is on
Mic gain is -50 db
Mic gain is -50 db also
25m Rec Ch Sel is 2ch
TC mode is NDF
TCG is rec run
TC preset is ----
Ub Mode is Frm Rate
UB preset is ----

On the FS-100, I've got:
Record: Normal

HDD Mode: DVCPRO HD REC

DV FORMATS: p2

Setup:
V.4.0.0
Stop no video
Ext Ctl Off
TC Rec Run
TC Non Drop

I've had the stuff for less than a month. Totally annoying.

take pictures of your menu on your camrea, that might help a lot more so we can see the actual settings.

Necessary settings on the HVX200:

Menu > 9. OTHER FUNCTIONS
Set 1394 Control to EXT
Set 1394 CMD SEL to REC_P
Set PC MODE to 1394DEVICE
Menu > 5. RECORDING SETUP
REC FORMAT P2 > set this to the format you wish to record your footage in.
Alternative frame rates are only available in any of the 720p modes.

To set an alternative frame rate to get fast or slow motion effects frame accurate:
Menu > 1. SCENE FILE
OPERATION TYPE must be set to FILM CAM

FRAME RATE can be set to whatever speed you wish to use.
For an explanation on how alternative frame rates are used, please refer to:
www.dvxuser.com/articles/framerates/

Necessary settings on the FS-100:
Using the right arrow key to move through the menus, verify the following settings-
RECORD set to NORMAL
HDD MODE set to one of the following DVCPROHD modes
DVCPROHD REC (for all DVCPRO-HD formats)
DVCPRO50 REC (for DVCPRO-50 format)
DVCPRO/DV REC (for normal DV format)

DV FORMATS set to P2

SETUP menu should have the following options enabled by scrolling down the menu, highlighting the
option, then pressing the SELECT button to place a hyphen in front of the option.
STOP NO VIDEO
EXT CTL OFF
TC EXT
TC NON-DROP

David, I just verified all those settings. They only different setting was in Setup, My TC was REC RUN instead of EXT.
My question is would these inaccurate settings allow a QT file to be made just fine but a P2 file to not work?

I've talked to Focus Enhancements, but they arn't helpful at all. I'm gonna try to meet up with a friend who has the exact setup and see if I can create P2 files on his FS-100 and my cam and with my FS-100 and his cam. This is lame...

I cheated... Notice the edited time on my first post and the post of my reply...

I forgot who said "It only takes me one beer to get drunk. I just can never remember weather it's the 13th or 14th"
