I´m a dp in Brazil and will be helping a British crew that will come to record some interviews. They asked me to put toghether a rental camera package of 1 sony HDCAM F900 amd 1 Sony Z1, and I want to have everything ready and working when they arrive. All video production in Brazil is made on NTSC cameras and i know PAL is the TV system in England, Will this be an issue with the F900 package? and about the little Z1? i´m doing some research but i´m working on a very tight schedule and would apreciate any info about possible issues.
thanks in advance...

Both F900 and Z1 are capable of NTSC/PAL switchability (well, not strictly true, the F900 is neither PAL nor NTSC, but -- well, you get the point).

The XDCAM EX is also both NTSC/PAL switchable. This is a real bonus if you shoot stock footage or work overseas.

The EX is so much more capable and better than the Z1u. It has 24p, full 1k resoultion censor, overcrank/undercrank ....etc. It will compliment the F900 better than the Z1u for sure.

thanks Dx, i´m looking foward to a chance of working with the EX but the client asked for the Z1. We will have a two days shoot and then they take the tapes home with them, "HD tapes, no disks", they said, and asked specificaly for the two cameras. I own a HVX200 and think it would do a much better job than the Z1 but at the end of the job what would i handle to my client? still dont have an answer to this question as most of the peopple don´t feel like taking a hard disk instead of tapes. thanks again.
