Hey guys. I have DVX footage all shot on the stock "f6" setting. I will be shooting this weekend with an HVX. I need to get the footage to match as well as possible.
I am currently reading through Barry's book, but if anyone has done this, please advise to settings.
I plan on shooting SD to P2. 24Pa. The DVX footage was shot in 4:3 for 16:9 cropping in post.
Thanks for your help.

Hey, Devon. There have been a few threads on this that I've seen pop up in the past, although it can be a difficult topic to search for with two of the words being DVX and HVX :)
Here are a few links that I found, however. I hope they are useful for you:

Seems like there was a real in depth post by Barry some time back about this but I haven't come across it, yet.
Hope that helps a little anyways.

Thank you so much. I was in a death match with the search function on this.

Thank you so much. I was in a death match with the search function on this.
Annoying isn't it?
So many relevant terms are under the bar: HVX, DVX, P2, 24p, 720...and too many others I've tried that I cant think of right now (maybe my brain has the same filter).
I sure wish the admins could change it to allow 2 and 3 letter searches. And then there's that 60 second timeout thing... :- (

Yeah, it's a bit of a double edged sword. If you allow too common of terms like "DVX", think of how many results that would pull back if someone just searched "DVX" and what a load that would put on the server... It would likely slow things down a lot.
I often use the DVXuser search in conjunction with a site search on google. Doing things like HVX200 and DVX100 can help yield results on those more common (and 3 letter) terms. Also adding to the end of 720... make it 720p and you'll likely get some results, though probably not very many relevant to what you are actually searching for... Make it 720p/24pn for example and you'll narrow it down a bit more.
So, I definitely feel you, and it takes some practice and multiple searching tools, but you can make it work. Though, we can definitely look into how we can make the search function more useful without hindering the site too much.
And, I always get laughed at for this one, but when you are writing posts/threads, it can be helpful to future users if you take the time to (at least once in your post) include the non-abbreviated version of a relevant term... Silly, I know, but it's helpful. I wouldn't have found those posts above if someone hadn't fully written out DVX100 and HVX200 in the same post.
