Hi,
I owe a hvx200 and I intend to cranl down the camera in order to have at disposal also the option of shooting at 2 fps....I know users have been doing it...I just wanted to know has anyone had any issues or problems with the camera after doing it....basically is it safe to do it and have not fears of not damaging the camera funcionality,,,

It was designed with undercranking and overcranking in mind. I highly doubt anyone would have a problem with a feature that was MEANT to be used.

Someone would have posted about having issues if it ever messed up a camera. So, this "hack" is actually perfectly fine as far as everyone here knows. And, 2fps with an open shutter is really fun.

my HVX isnt hacked but one day when doing some 2fps shots i found i could put my shutter to 1/12 (which is something this hack only allowed apparently).
So really i dont think doing the hack is necessary unless u want the 180 degree shutter angle. but if it doesnt cause any harm...cant see why not.

It's not a "hack" actually; you just edit the scene file to write in a new frame rate.
1/12th is the lowest you can get on the HVX without going to the steps to get slower frame rates. With "the hack" you can get to 1/2 second exposure, six times longer than 1/12th.

The "hack" is officially supported on the Panasonic site www.hvx200.es (http://www.hvx200.es), so if you did break your camera, you could always claim that you were just following directions, albeit in Spanish.

I think if you did one too many timelapses, while pointed directly at the sun, you might see some problems (Ants with a magnifying glass) but other than that, There shouldnt be a problem.
