Does anyone know where I could rent a Canon HDV camera? We had a guy shoot some interviews at a conference last year who shot them all on the XL H1. I don't know what frame rate or style he shot, but I need to capture the footage off of the tapes (5 total).

Does anyone know of places in the bay area where I can rent one of these cameras for a day? Every time I post an ad I get a response by the same guy, who wants me to pay him under the table, but I can't, it's a company thing. I hear the HV20 should be able to see the footage as well and we're open to it, it's just that I don't know what the tapes were shot at and, unfortunately, the cameraman hasn't responded to any of my inquiries.

I'm in San Francisco. Thanks

What do you mean it's a company thing? Does it have to go through records and official contracts and all that? I have a Canon A1 I can rent out and don't mind going through the paperwork. You can shoot me a PM.

It shouldn't matter what settings were used, the HV20 should be able to capture any footage shot with another HDV canon camera. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
